Healthy Apple Millet Porridge Recipe

A gluten-free oatmeal made with wheat and apple chunks. It's smooth and tastes great.  


– 1 cup millet – 3 cups milk dairy and plant milk both work – 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt – 1 medium apple cored and chopped into small piece – 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or to taste – 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

Step 1

Use a sieve to wash the millet. After that, put it in a medium-sized pot and add salt and milk.  


Step 2

Over medium-high heat, bring the mixture to a boil. Then, lower the heat to medium and cook the millet, turning every now and then, for about 10 minutes.  

Step 3

Add honey, cinnamon, and apple pieces. Continue cooking for 5 minutes until the millet is mushy and spreads. Pour additional milk on the oats for creaminess.  

Step 4

If you want, you can serve it warm and top it with more cinnamon and chopped nuts.
