Marble Bundt Cake Recipe

This Marble Bundt Cake is delicious any time of the year and is very easy to make. It has swirls of vanilla and chocolate.

– 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1 teaspoon salt – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened – 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar – 4 large egg – 1 cup (226g) sour cream – 2 tablespoons milk – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 1/2 cup (42g) unsweetened cocoa powder

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 10- or 12-cup Bundt pan. (I recommend Baker's Joy or Pam for Baking flour-based cooking spray.)

Step 1

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and soda. Set aside. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy with a medium-speed electric mixer. After adding each egg, mix well. Mix in vanilla.

Step 2

Lower the mixer speed. Put a third of the flour in. Add half the sour cream. Pour in half the remaining flour mixture, then the sour cream and milk. Add the remaining flour mixture last. Just combine.

Step 3

Split the batter in half, making one half slightly larger. Mix the cocoa powder into the smaller portion until combined.

Step 4

Put half the vanilla batter in the pan. Put chocolate batter on top. Add the remaining vanilla batter. Swirl the batters with a thin spatula or knife after gently tapping the pan on the countertop.

Step 5

Bake 50–60 minutes until the cake is golden brown and a pick inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Step 6

Cool the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. After removing the cake from the pan, cool it on a wire rack.
