Ingredient

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE LAYER – 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) salted butter, at room temperature – 1/2 cup brown sugar –1/2 cup granulated sugar – 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract –2 eggs – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 3/4 teaspoon baking soda –1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips PECAN PIE LAYER – 4 tablespoons salted butter, at room temperature – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 3 large eggs, r, at room temperature – 3/4 cup real maple syrup – 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional) – 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt – 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1 cup raw whole pecans

Start with a 350-degree oven. Parchment a 9x13 baking dish. Layer cookies. Mix butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl.

Each egg should be added and beaten until creamy. Beat in vanilla. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix in chocolate chips. Evenly distribute the dough in the dish.

Layer pecans. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. One at a time, mix in the eggs. If using, add maple syrup, bourbon, and salt. Combine. Mix in chocolate chips and pecans.

Carefully pour pecan mixture over cookie layer. If not everything is covered, fine.

Bake until the top is golden brown, 35-40 minutes. A jiggly centre is fine. Allow at least an hour to cool before cutting.
