Honey Whole Wheat Banana Bread Recipe

Now you no longer need to look for the best healthy banana bread recipe. This banana bread is made with whole wheat flour and honey to make it sweet. It's very fluffy and delicious.  


– ⅓ cup melted coconut oil or extra-virgin olive oil – ½ cup honey or maple syrup – 2 egg – 1 cup mashed banana – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – ½ teaspoon salt – ½ teaspoon cinnamon, plus more to swirl on top – 1 ¾ cups whole wheat pastry flour or regular whole wheat flour – 1 teaspoon baking soda* – ¼ cup hot water*

Preheat oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit (165 degree Celsius) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Mix oil and honey in a large bowl. Add eggs and beat.

After adding bananas and vanilla, add salt and cinnamon. Last, mix in the flour until combined. Stir baking soda into hot water, then briefly mix into batter until evenly distributed. 

Step 2

Put batter in greased loaf pan. Add cinnamon and swirl with a toothpick or butter knife to make a marbled effect. Bake 55–65 minutes.

Step 3

A toothpick in the top will indicate when the bread is done. Result should be clean. Cool the bread in the loaf pan for 5 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack for 30 minutes before slicing.
