Homemade Hibiscus Simple Syrup recipes

Two ingredients make this simple homemade Hibiscus Simple Syrup. Useful for drinks, baked goods, ice cream, coffee, and tea! Gluten-free, vegan. 

Ingredient

– 2 hibiscus tea bags or ¼ cup dried hibiscus flower – 1 cup (215g) organic cane sugar – 1 cup water

Direction

Heat one cup of water in a small pot on medium until boiling. Take off heat and add hibiscus tea bags. Tea steep for 10 minutes.

Before adding one cup of sugar, remove the tea bags and whisk the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. Ensure that the syrup has totally cooled.

When using dried hibiscus petals, strain the tea through a sieve with a fine screen to remove any impurities.

Ensure that the syrup has totally cooled. After that, transfer to a container that is airtight. You can keep it in the refrigerator for one to two weeks.
