Making the crust
Add salt and half the butter to the oreo crumbs and mix well. Pour in a little at a time, mixing, until the oreo crumbs stick together. You may not need all butter.
2
Press the oreo crumb mixture into the pie dish's base and sides. Use a glass or cup measure to pack the crumbs tightly so they hold their shape when you cut the pie.
3
To ensure my pie crust holds together, I bake it for 10 minutes at 350°F / 180°C. You can skip this step.
4
Make Pie Filling
Mix butter and sugar in a stand mixer bowl with the whisk attachment until light and fluffy.
5
Mix in melted chocolate.
After scraping the bowl, add the cocoa powder and vanilla and whip until combined.
6
Add one egg and whip for 5 minutes on medium-high. Whip the other eggs for 5 minutes between them. The last egg should make the mixture silky and dissolve all the sugar.
7
Place the mixture into the pie crust, and then smooth out the top. Position in the refrigerator to chill for a minimum of four hours.
