Candy Cane Brownies Recipe

Brookies are a tasty one-pan cookie bar with layers of fudgy brownie and chocolate chip. This recipe for homemade Brookies combines two classic sweets and is baked just right.  

– 1 box (18.3 oz) brownie mix – 2 large eggs – 1/2 cup vegetable oil – 1/4 cup heavy cream – 3/4 cup mint chocolate chips or chunks (see notes) – 1/3 cup crushed peppermint candy canes – Topping/Garnish – 1/3 cup crushed peppermint candy canes

Get the oven to 350℉. A 9x13 baking pan should have parchment paper around the edges or a lot of cooking spray that doesn't stick. Place away.

In a large bowl, mix together the dry brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and heavy cream. Use an electric hand mixer or a whisk to mix until everything is mixed (about one to two minutes).

This recipe calls for 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, and 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Add chocolate chunks or chips that taste like mint. 3/4 cup chocolate chunks with mint

Step 3

Fill pan with brownie batter. Place crushed candy canes on top and swirl them into the batter with a butter knife. Stir them into brownie tops without fully mixing.

Step 4

1/3 cup crushed peppermints Bake 25–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Move baking pan edges away from sides.

Step 5

Place the remaining crushed candy canes on top immediately after baking. Cool for 30–60 minutes and cut into squares.
