Browned Butter Sugar Cookie Bars with White Chocolate Frosting Recipe
I've been waiting too long to offer these cookie bars. These February delights are the easiest and sweetest to create. Buttery, doughy, soft, and topped with light, fluffy, sweet white chocolate frosting. Indulgent? I thought it was time for a splurge recipe after a month of healthy January eating.
Ingredient
– 2 sticks salted butter, cubed– 1 cup granulated sugar– 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract– 2 eggs, at room temperature– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour–1 teaspoon baking sodaWHITE CHOCOLATE FROSTING– 1 stick salted butter– 1/2 cup confectioners sugar– 1 cup high quality white chocolate chips, melted and cooled to touch– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract– Melted chocolate and white chocolate, for decorating

Start with a 325-degree oven. Parchment a 9x13-inch baking pan. Add butter to medium saucepan. Brown the butter for 2-3 minutes till it smells toasted. Stir often.

Transfer to a mixing bowl after removing from heat. Let cool 5 minutes. Mix in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time and stir well.

Beat in the flour and baking soda until the dough resembles a ball. Press the dough into the baking dish. Bake for 20–25 minutes until brown on top. Cool fully before icing.

How to create frosting: Beat butter and powdered sugar for 5 minutes in a stand mixer or large basin with a hand mixer until creamy and fluffy.

Beat in melted white chocolate and vanilla. After cooling, frost and decorate cookie bars. Cut and serve.
