Best Hassel back Potatoes Recipe

Simple and delicious, these Hasselback Potatoes are the perfect side dish for any occasion! Crispy, buttery, and fluffy, these potatoes are delicious!  


– 6 medium russet potatoes* – ¼ cup unsalted butter melted (56g) – ¼ cup olive oil (60ml) – 2 garlic cloves minced – Salt – Ground black pepper – Chopped fresh herbs (chives, parsley)


Warm the oven up to 425F. Grease a big baking sheet with a lip around the edge.  

Step 1

Set two chopsticks on either side of a potato on a cutting board. Cut the potato into ¼-inch-thick pieces.   

Step 2

This will keep the knife from cutting all the way through the potatoes. The chopsticks will act as a guide. On the baking sheet, put the sliced potatoes.  

Step 3

Mix melted butter, oil, and garlic in a small bowl. Keep two tablespoons. Make sure to brush the mixture between potato slices.   

Step 4

Drizzle remaining mixture on potatoes. Season generously with salt and pepper.  

Step 5

The potatoes should be soft and the slices' tops crispy after 1 hour of baking, sprinkling with the saved butter occasionally. Sprinkle chopped herbs and serve now.
