Prepare Cake Batter
Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside. 2½ cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda,

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a stand mixer bowl with the paddle attachment or a large mixing bowl and electric mixer. Medium-high-speed beating for 2 minutes.

Just until it's all mixed in, add the vanilla extract. Along with half of the flour mixture, add it to the butter and sugar mixture and mix it in quickly on low speed.
